This extra year is at the 7BSO level, the same as the 3rd year of instrument building.  You can only start this specialization year after you have successfully completed the other years or if you can demonstrate sufficient building experience.   

In the restoration year, basic restorations are taught, such as cracks and fractures, inlay repair, re-fretting, retouching of polish, etc. The restorations are carried out in relation to the instrument itself and its shape.

The restorations are carried out on the instrument that presents itself and are therefore project-based.
